2008 - Bath - Zee West

April: I've known Zee for around 4 years now. We hooked up for lunch after an absence of many months. It was good to catch-up and compare on how both our lives are transforming. Zee continues to hammer down a solid business case for investors in a very cool technology concept she's proposing... one of life's natural networkers and a good friend too.

April: Zippy as the Terminator. If you check out the previous page, my trip to Cornwall, you'll see a photo of a robot I took; my brother Matthias realised there was something suspiciously familiar about it, and so et voila...he has proved the truth. Yes?.

April: it was a Wednesday night gathering at the Ostrich pub... as arranged on Yog. Simon sat next to me and my plate of all-day breakfast...at which point a seagull swooped low and shat on his head.

2008 - Bristol - Dan B

April: I had a text from Dan saying "Backgammon! It's been too long!" So I arranged for him to join the rest of the gang on the Wednesday night hook-up at the Ostrich.

It was lovely to see him again, particularly as the last time we met was the start of October 2007... just before I started at the Company, and before my life flipped into this amazing transformation. He's been through some tough times which he didn't expand upon; we dug our heads into the backgammon board and spent several hours thrashing each other. When we resurfaced I was delighted to see many of the others were still there...and socialised.

April. Matthias went from looking like a Gentleman to a Conquisdator...particularly with the regal table set-up and Jamieson looking like some sort of court spy advising his masters of the latest information.

April. Yet another fabulous gathering of people, and as always, particularly good to see Jamieson again.

2008 - Jesus Mound - Mum, Djr, Akr

May. Another mini-trip to Newcastle. Once again following further medical tests on mum and being here to listen to the results. Things are not good for my mum, health-wise... not that you could tell from this photograph. Actually this photograph says a lot, it shows the delightful, positive, laughing determination mum has towards the cancer that has taken root within her, and her divine acceptance of the fact. I'm sharing this view and simply savouring every day I get to spend with the woman. My sister... well, she and I are very different.

I think mum is possibly aware of these differences and how emotions may flare...further on down the line. So, this weekend, she asked my sister and I to write down what we each wanted from the house; hopefully mum will resolve conflicts now, by reflecting our desires in her living will.

I briefly saw Pete this trip; he is off to see his father for the whole weekend; and I'll probably miss him again on my next planned trip at the end of May. Oh well, a pint and a curry and a blast at Fury of Dracula will simply have to wait another couple months.
